magic circle

USAGE

A magic circle is used to start a project that uses circular rows. It results in a circle with no hole in the middle.

STEPS

1
Wrap the yarn over the thumb of your non-dominant hand, then twice around your index finger.
2
Place your hook under the two strands on your finger and stitch a chain.
3
Stitch the number of stitches the pattern requires. Six single crochet stitches is common.
4
Pull the loop larger so that it doesn't slip apart while making the circle and remove the circle from your finger. Optionally, pull the tail between the two strands.
5
While holding the circle at the end where the loop is, pull the strand that does NOT make the tail move. Pull it tight.
6
Pull the tail until the second strand is hidden in the circle.
7
The circle is now ready to crochet in circular rows. The first stitch might be a little snug.
